Kite flyin' with no Wind

Ok so yesterday we thought we would take Austen out back and fly his new Lighting McQueen kite. We are in Oklahoma so the wind is always blowing, right. Well usually, but not yesterday. We gave it a try anyway. Austen got so excited when we first kind of got it going in the air that we had to keep trying. I think there was one attempt where we got it up about 20 ft in the air for about 30 seconds. Great for Austen, hard work for DaDa. At one point Dada was trying so hard to get the kite in the air he took off running to get some air under it. Instead of looking where he was running he was watching the kite. Next came a crash with Austen's ball net. (Picture below). Sorry about that Pawpaw, but we got it back together sort of. So then Austen gets tired of Dada trying to fly it so he tries to do it himself. He caught us off guard. We turned around and he was flying the kite all by himself. We tried to get a picture of it, but he let go too soon. Of course we couldn't get him to do it again for the camera, so you will have to take our word for it that he really did fly it himself. After 30 minutes of trying to get this thing in the air again and Austen throwing a huge fit about me taking the string away from him to get it all untangled we called it quits. Maybe this weekend the wind will blow like normal and we can keep it in the air a little longer.

Austen is so excited about this......

Yeah!!!! It is in the air......but not for long.
Dada had a crash with the ball net. Wyatt is there checking on him.
I think Austen's words here were "No worky Dada".
Jaksen was just hanging out watching this circus.
This picture pretty much sums up the whole experience. Haha.

But here are some of the better moments.

Nothing to do with kite flyin' but we wanted to throw this one in with the update.
Have a Great Weekend!!!!

Just so you know, I look at this blog almost every day and have shown all my friends at work how beautiful my nephews are! I'm glad that you are doing this, as frustrating as it may get at times! :) Keep up the good work!
